Late 1800s - early 1900s brooch by the Unger Brothers jewelry firm of Newark, New Jersey. Unger Brothers were known for crafting exquisite and highly collectible, Art Nouveau pieces from sterling silver, and this brooch is certainly no exception. In fact, Unger Brother pieces may be found in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum.

A figural piece, the brooch depicts a beautiful woman wearing a fine bonnet decorated with flowers and ribbon. Made from gilt silver (silver gilded with gold), this is quite the stand-out piece for any collection. Fully hallmarked, the brooch measures approximately 25.15 mm wide and 32.34 mm long. The clasp is secure and the item is in very good to excellent vintage condition.
